the Sorry State of the Mandai Zoo

On the eve of CNY last week, out of boredom, I decided to go visit the S'pore Zoo. Why? I really dunno. May be the rational is: when humans break your heart, you are better-off with animals??? May be...

I more inclined at that time to be with "closer with nature"... because nature and animals do have intelligence which awaiting to share them with us.

Anyway, I was shocked with the conditions of the zoo. The last time I went was maybe 6-7 yrs ago. But I think the zoo lost its vibrancy and excitement.

The "quality" of animals also quite poor and aging. Sorry, not to criticise but just a honest comments from a S'porean who always think highly of the Zoo & really proud of it.

Upon seeing this sorry state, my mind suddenly thought of the Great Master Mind of the Zoo, Bernard Harrison who left the organization in 2002.

May be we need to bring him back and salvage this situation before it gets worse!!!!!

What on earth happened to Britney???

First, she split up with K-Fed.

Then, caught without wearing any undies.

Now, shaved her head to look like Thierry Henry. Sorry lah, Goners....I mean Gunners..

Seriously, what REALLY happened to her?

Meltdown from the nasty divorce? Desperately in need of Popularity? A Jaded Star & a Has-been?

The truth is...the world now no longer in need of Britney Spears.....we just want her in our memories as someone who always showing-off her G-String strap....

Lille - following the Thai's footsteps

Wow! What a joke this has become?

First, we had the Thais threatening to abandon that 1st leg final match against S'pore in the Asean championship on 31 Jan due to so-called "dubious" decision of the M'sian referee to award S'pore with a penalty.
Now, we have in the prestigious Champions' League match....THE VERY SAME THING!!!

Amazing!!! So what now? If decision is made against you, you just Cabut? Alamak, I may forgave the Thais lah for you know lah....Thais being Thais. But ang-mohs from France, also behave the same way!!!

My salute is reserved to Sir Alex for keeping his boys' temper in check. You could see that Gary Neville almost reacted stupidly....but Sir Alex managed to get his boys not to get involved. Let Lille made fools out of themselves.

So, what the ISSUE this time? Dubious Penalty?

NO!

It's just that Giggs, being amongst the best-brains in Football, did a quickie free-kick that caught the goal-keeper & his defenders with "their pants down" - so to say..He,he...

I'm licking my lips with Man Utd having that precious away goal. Well Done, Guys!!!

PRISON BREAK SEASON ENDS....sob...sob

Why must good things come to an end?

Last Thurs was Prison Break 2-hour season finale on Channel 5.

I was almost in tears when it ended...the way it ended...when those boys missed the plane and thus had to escape on foot with authorities had already surrounded the perimeter.....then it ENDED.

What a Cliff-Hanger?!

God, what the next season will be?

My guess:-

a) The boys are on the run (for I don't think they will be caught or maybe one of them - to make it interesting)

b) Linc & Michael will finally meet Veronica and some "secrets" will be uncovered.

c) Warden Pope will be fired and becomes a college lecturer on architecture (since he loves miniture structures & buildings...etc).

d) Bellick will tender his resignation in frustration and becomes a full-time bounty hunter to get those boys back into prison.

e) Sarah who was feared dead.....is actually NOT. Michael will come & rescue her like a knight in shining armour. But the love affair ends in tragedy....so the Producers rename the show to HEART BREAK.

Neighbourhood of the Ghetto

We all know that our country's success in the past as a major trading hub was due its strategic location in the Far East. Located at the natural meeting point of sea routes at the tip of the Malay Peninsula, Singapore had long known visits from a wide variety of sea craft, from Chinese junks, Indian vessels, Arab dhows and Portuguese battleships to Buginese schooners.

OK...that's HISTORY...BUT NOW?

Now, to me, her "strategic" location has become a PROBLEM for her.

WHY?

Being in a "Neighbourhood of a Ghetto", I called it.

A Neighbourhood where Emotions prevailed & Logic thrown out of the window.

Where nationalist viewpoints is way above commonsense.

Above all that is the BIG J.

Not J-Lo, but the green-eyed monster, J-E-A-L-O-U-S-L-Y.

STILL NOT SURE WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT?

HERE'S:

a) Indonesia banned the sale of sand to Singapore.

They claimed environmental concerns and the need to protect its borders.

REALLY?

b) Malaysia's Johor Chief Minister Abdul Ghani Othman told the New Straits Times that it was Singapore's reclamation project on Tekong island, close to the Johor river, that caused it to flood. He claimed that this caused the mouth of the river to narrow and excess rain water could not be discharged. The river then burst its banks in Kota Tinggi, he said, submerging homes and streets.

TOTALLY INSANE?

c) Thailand's lost to Singapore in the 1st leg soccer final of the Asean Cup due to a controversial penalty was link to the sale of Shincorp to Temasek lah, Singapore "bought" the Malaysian referee to win the game lah....etc

ABSOLUTELY MAD?

To me, it is really sad when someone fails to see things objectively.....What worse is when that person is a top ranking government official, a country national team coach or person of high-standing!

They are NOT goons & the influence of their statement is definitely far-reaching to their country's common men. However, most of the time, the comments they made are due to self-interest and political mileage.

HOW SAD........maybe Singapore is in the WRONG NEIGHBOURHOOD!

Not the ISLAM I know & love....

This news just came in from Bloomberg: Thirteen Palestinians were killed and at least 170 were wounded in the Gaza Strip as Hamas and Fatah gunmen clashed, breaking a cease-fire between the two factions after two days.

In Iraq, we have the Shites & Sunnis clashes. In Palestine, we have Sunnis vs Sunnis.

Hey! I'm confused....when Muslims killed others in their act of terrorism....BUT I'm MORE confused when Muslims killed one another!!

NO WONDER lah ISLAM has fast becoming the most hated religion in the world. Its image has been tarnished by these goons thus making Islam looked like A REALLY VIOLENT RELIGION!

Having said this, I can never blame Non-Muslims for having such a Negative perception of this beautiful religion.

Muslims should be blamed, you agree?

When being "CRAZY" doesn't make money...

CRAZY HORSE's closing down due to poor business...

Reasons for Poor Business (I think...):

  1. Tickets too expensive $85 & above...(when porn dvd costs only RM 5)

  2. Watching semi-nude ladies is no longer fashionable...(watching men is...)

  3. Eng Wah should stick to Movies....(Chinese & French don't mix...)

  4. Parisian Lifestyles Difference (S'poreans being S'poreans can't find the logic of dressing up when those ladies on stage are NOT half-dressed)

Sports Unsporting Behaviours

I really wonder how can people who are into sports yet can show rude & unsporting behaviour...

You saw the soccer match yesterday between our Lions & the Thais.....how the Thais protested & refused to play for 15mins just because of a "dubious" decision by the referee.

Can you believe it?
MALU..LAH

If this happens in EPL, I think one season can last into 2 years, for Pete's sake!

With all those imperfections, like referee "kayu", strikers "diving", "head-butting", "kungfu kick into fans"...

These are the elements of a BEAUTIFUL GAME!

That make SOCCER the Most Popular Sports...after sumo-wrestling...oops just joking...

Anyway, I blamed the Thai coach for this. How can he make a living out of sports yet be VERY UNSPORTING!!

He should be looking for another JOB!!!
