LA Galaxy Newest Investor, Mr Tom Cruise
David Beckham is a University Lecturer????
How can Salman Rushdie be called 'SIR' !!!!
Even our Singapore Ghost Story writer, Russell Lee is a better candidate from Rushdie. Why does the British always need to provoke Muslims, when knowingly knows this evil man has totally insulted & degraded the Prophet of Islam (pbuh).
Having said that, though in anger, I felt it is TOTALLY RIDICULOUS for the Pakistani Ulema Council giving Osama Bin Laden the title "Saifullah" (the sword of Allah)in response to the knighthood awarded to Rushdie by Britain.
Alamak!!! Come on, lah....I can only call this act as childish & lame. Really make us Muslims look like 'no standard'. Just like Charlie Brown calling his friend's mother "Witch' & the friend responded & called Charlie's mum, 'Vampire'. So goes on & on & On......

Stop Bullying SBS Drivers!!!!
There have been 18 assaults on SBS Transit bus drivers in the first six months of this year — four more than the total number for the whole of last year.
Why did people feel too heated up until they assaulted the drivers? There MUST be reasons why people do what they did, right?
So when SBS comes up with this publicity blitz, we passengers also have our own...
How about that????
What's NEW? Another Charity Scandal in S'pore!!!
First NKF, then Teen Challenge and now the St John's Home for Elderly Persons embroiled in a charity scandal.
What went wrong?
This time about S$3.8 million in funds have reportedly disappeared from the Home's fixed deposit accounts in two banks.
This is a BIG blow to our squeky clean image. It really goes to show there are quite a number of Greedy people here in S'pore.
The situation is NOT PEANUTS but seems to be out-of-control!!!
That is why I'm sharing the above rare video by George Michael called, "Praying For Time" - which is about the greed of human society today.
May GOD saves us all. Amen.
You can call me SINATRA???
Any way, I'm really pleased if this MCFC purchase by Thaksin goes through legally. BUT, his selection of having Sven Erikson as the Coach is sure a MISTAKE from the Start.
I'm sure all EPL fans around the world will agree with me.
Finally, Gunners are Goners...with Henry gone....
So who are to be blame??
Of Course, Arsenal lah. Overly engrossed with the new stadium until not getting the right players for the team. I also point my finger to Arsene Wenger who due to his French ego refused to put proper team in the Carling Cup Final against Chelsea...thus making 2007 a barren year for the Gunners.
Arsene Wenger was not in his correct mind to beef up his team with youngsters. He really thought he got great bargain in his purchase of youngsters to replace the Great Arsenal Team...but now with Henry's gone...everything is falling apart............& I bet Wenger will chabut soon.....
Are we losing the war against Terrorism?
So spent last few days to think & "analyze" this whole scenerio. Here, wish to share my sincere & humble opinion on how can S'pore win this WAR against Terrorism.
HOW S'PORE CAN WIN THE WAR AGAINST TERRORISM?
1) Reviewing the role of Mosques & MUIS
Our Mosques today seem to be overly involved in their fund-raising activities and thus losing focus on their primary role for the ummah.
So the issue here is WHY they have to do this? I agree that fund is the one of the most essential things for any activities & projects. So are our Mosques not well funded? If Mosques activities are based only on public donations & none from MUIS, then we know where the fault lies.
Bottomline, role of Mosques needs to be reviewed in view of the rising fundmentalism & radicalism. And having programmes that counter this phenomenon.
For MUIS, they must be upfront in eradicating any Wahhabism influence, if any, within the organizations. I've heard there are a number of officials who are Wahhabis in MUIS. I pray to God that this is NOT TRUE. MUIS should also eridicate those Ustaz that have leaning towards Wahhabism.
2) Reviewing the role & delivery contents of Religious Leaders to the Ummah
Whenever one attends a syarahan or religious talk in Mosques or elsewhere, the focus & themes of the talk are usually onhalal & haram (permissibility & non-permissibility), how to pray properly, how to do this & that..etc
I think the need to go back to basics in our overall Islamic education. That is to focus more on knowing in depth who is Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)and what were His real messages. Love, Peace, Brotherhood, Goodness, Universality & Inclusive Nature of Islam as a whole.
Another point is also to make the talks attractive to so more people will attend such talks. Talks on "Do This, Don't Do That" are a REAL Turn-off to most people especially the youths.
3) Making Good Use of the Malay Media (Berita Harian, SURIA and WARNA)
Berita Harian has done a great job in counter attacking radical ideologies with many of their in-depth articles. As an attraction to the majority of the masses, there should more interviews with respected Ulamas.
Ulamas like Sheikhs Tantawi, Yusuf Qardhawi, Hisham Kabbani & Hamzah Yusuf. Conducting & publishing interviews with famous Muslims like Yusuf Islam (Cats Steven), Muhammad Ali (the Former Boxing Champion), Zinedine Zidane (the Former Great Footballer), Shirin Ebadi (Nobel PeacePrize Winner) with focus on Peace & Humanity.
Both SURIA & WARNA can expand on this approach. Getting The Straits Times to feature these interviews is also good because there a quite a number of educated Malays who does not read Berita Harian.
It is really beneficial that these personnel conduct talks to the Public as well.
4) Others
Last year, I attended a beautiful conference held by Aleem Siddique Mosque called, "The Journey to Ihsan" where a numbers of famous Muslim speakers were invited. I heard there was ZERO support from MUIS...WHY????
During that conference, one American Muslim lady shared a video on "Beads of Faith" who showed the common practice in using tasbeeh or rosary among people of different faiths. That was really an eye-opener to me.
Any way, I agree with the Government stand it is only through the Community that Terrorism can be stopped. However, the Government must also its part in helping those in the Community who are in dire financial needs. This is because those radicals who their enormous amount of cash can easily lure the poor or in-need into their evil activities.
Enuff Said....
Karen Armstrong was in S'pore????
Good example is the invitation Karen Armstrong to S'pore. That is on-the-spot decision.....BUT none of the public know & invited to her talks!!!!! Strange right? Heard the talks were opened only to Diplomats, Religious Leaders...etc....well was our Abdul Basheer was from any of these categories???
I've read one of Karen's books, History of GOD which I found really insightful and a good read to all especially those Muslims.
Hey MUIS, heard John Esposito is coming in September???? Will there be any OPEN session Muslims here????
